ICATT celebrates 15th Anniversary
ICATT becomes a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Caribbean (ICAC)
The Institute moves into its own offices at the TTGPA
ICATT signs an agreement with the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) in January. This was the beginning of a major turn in the education of local accountants. Subsequently, ICATT enters into the Joint Scheme Agreement with ACCA to provide certified accounting qualifications on behalf of the Institute.
In January, Continuing Professional Education (CPE) is made mandatory for all ICATT members. This was a major project of the then Education & Professional Development Committee.
ICATT becomes one of the first countries to adopt International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and in 2010 adopted IFRS for SMEs.
In March ICATT signs an agreement with The Multilateral Investment Fund administered by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) to assist with meeting the minimum standards set by the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) and to reflect international best practices.
Angela Lee Loy becomes the first female President of ICATT and serves from 2005 – 2007. She went on to head the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Caribbean (ICAC) from 2007 – 2009.
ICATT introduces Practice Monitoring
ICATT celebrates its 40th anniversary and launches the ICATT Forum of Firms to better service the needs of the large firms in Trinidad and Tobago.
Our membership base reaches 1,000.
ICATT co-hosts the first ever Audit Committee Conference in Trinidad and Tobago and the country’s first ever Accountancy Career Fair.
ICATT adopts the IFAC Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants.
For the first time in its 45-year history, the Council approves revisions to ICATT’s Rules and Regulations on December 20th, 2016.
The new ICATT Rules and Regulations come into effect.
The Institute marks its 50th Anniversary and holds its first Annual General meeting and Annual International Finance and Accounting Conference virtually.
The Mission and Vision statements for the Institute were updated.
